God defines marriage-- not society.
Our bodies as Scripture says, was designed to serve God and be indwelled by the Holy Spirit. Those claiming Christianity must not be like the pagans of old times, prostituting themselves. Jesus lives in us and we are not to be united to prostition through sexual sin, be it fornication or homosexuality. Just thinking about that is so outrageous and appauling, isn't it?!
Yet even some of the homosexuals will claim they are "christian". This outrages God more than it outrages those who are "truly" His redeemed, and it is truely outrageous indeed. God's Word clearly says Christians are people who used to sin like that, then they got saved, and turned their backs on those sins. God calls homosexuality a sin. They aren't born that way, and God never made them that way. It's a way of life they choose to be enslaved by their sexual sin. (See Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
Homosexuality isnt anythin gnew, it's just as wicked in man's early years as recorded in Scripture, but it's being celebrrated and that's so appauling given America's rich Christian history. We, as Christians, must stand on God's Word and declare the truth: "Marriage is only between a man and woman."
You can stand up for the truth and have a civil dialog. How you respond to gay people ( by your tone and responses) may be a negative thing to those who embrace homosexual sin, but if they are open to the conversation you can be a beacon of light in their dark and depraved world. Homosexuals will want to try and convert you with their stories and views, but you must stand on God's word. His Word doesnt change and neither does the teachings of Christ we hold to.

The most important thing that Christians can offer to homosexuals is hope--hope that their sins, just like the sins of anyone else, can be forgiven and their lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. Jesus' command to love our neighbor clearly embraces the homosexual as well. But love does not require affirming every behavior in which an individual engages. (FRC)
